O2 Launches Prepaid International Calling Card

O2 has launched an International Calling Card which guarantees to give customer 100% of the advertised call minutes, unlike some other call cards on the market.
International calling cards have received a bad reputation as many fail to deliver the number of call minutes bought, calls to landlines have been disconnected and some cards can not be activated once purchased.
Recent research into the performance of calling cards has shown that some cards only delivered 28 per cent of the calls advertised, once a complicated series of additional charges had been applied for the use of the card.
O2 is aiming to change this poor service by giving customers 100% of the call minutes bought and to charge reasonable rates for calls which start from 1p per minute. This card adds to the successful line of O2 pre paid cards.
Using the O2 calling card will mean that the clarity of phone conversations will be similar to the call quality of calls made through the O2 mobile phone network.
In addition international calls are possible to almost any country in the world and customer service is UK based/
“The International Calling Card market is notoriously grubby and we know that consumers are crying out for a quality product from a trusted brand,” said Gary Booker, O2’s Consumer General Manager.
“Our new calling card follows the successful launch of our International Favourites bolt on and is part of our strategy to grow our share of the overall international calling market.”
Reasonable call pricing means that those that want to talk to friends and relatives abroad for longer periods of time, can receive a staggering 3000 minutes for just £10 per month.
The O2 International Calling Card costs £5 and will be available from over 20,000 retail outlets across the UK, including O2 stores.
