Many Need A Credit Card To Pay Dental Bills

The high cost of visiting the dentist is taking its toll with many now forced to pay for dental treatment using a credit card and some having to take out a loan.
According to Simplyhealth’s Annual Dental Survey, 39% of Britons have had to pay for dental bills over £50 using a credit card, and 2% have been forced to take out a loan.
The high costs are actually deterring many from the visiting the dentist at all and this has resulted in people suffering from long term tooth decay, losing a tooth or having to have extreme dental procedures.
James Glover from healthcare provider Simplyhealth, explains: “It’s extremely worrying that people are going to these lengths to pay for their dental treatment and that others are delaying to the point of pain and long term damage.
The good news is that it doesn’t need to be like this. By putting aside just a little a week, health cash plans and dental plans can help take away the financial bother of dental care. For example, a Simply Cash Plan starts from just £2.25 a week providing cover for dental visits, optician appointments, complementary therapies and more.”
Through its Simply Cash Plan and Simply Dental Plan, Simplyhealth provides cover for dental check-ups, treatment and emergencies and can be used for both NHS and private dentist care.
Dental insurance is well worth considering, it might just help you visit the dentist more regularly and hopefully do so before your teeth start causing you trouble.
