Motor insurance policies 'are designed to suit every budget'

Even if the economic situation in the country continues to decline, drivers will still be able to get hold of motor insurance, an industry expert has claimed.Graeme Trudgill, technical and corporate affairs executive for the British Insurance Brokers' Association (Biba), said that there were a huge variety of motor insurance products on the market and that many were designed for people on low incomes.
He was commenting after MoneyExpert reported that one per cent of uninsured drivers blamed high premium costs for their transgression.
However, Mr Trudgill stressed: "There are no concerns about the availability of motor insurance.
"Brokers offer all sorts of policies aimed at people who are struggling. They offer instalment plans, they can offer any level of cover from the bare bones; third party only to an all singing all dancing comprehensive policy.
"There is masses of choice out there. Instalment facilities are available and even short-period policies; you can have whatever level of cover you wish. Brokers can always offer an insurance solution for any motorist."
The MoneyExpert study also suggested that a total of 350,000 motorists admitted they have driven without insurance in the last 12 months.
