Professional financial advice for planning worries is sought more often by women than by men. That is the opinion of AJS Wealth Management, which has said that while women are more likely to look for general help, men are more prone to asking for advice for specific circumstances.
Anna Sofat, director of the financial planning and wealth management service, indicated that "men tend to be more product-focused".
She explained: "The driver for men to picking up the phone is a transaction with women it's much more about feeling guilty about something, or pondering things and thinking they need to take stock of the financial part of their lives.
"It's not necessarily that something is wrong, but they want to take stock. Women tend to look at much wider aspects of financial planning."
Seven in ten British adults have some form of investment or savings, according to figures published by the Office for National Statistics.
