Nationwide has picked up a prestigious award for its credit card services at the recent Card Awards in London. At the event, which was held at the fashionable Grosvenor House Hotel, Nationwide was given an award for Most Responsible Credit Card Lending Practices.
In particular, judges praised the way Nationwide worked to make sure its credit card processes were transparent and clear and for the positive way the lender stacked its order of repayment in its customers' favour.
What's more, the judges welcomed the lender's practice of offering customers fee-free card use abroad.
"We understand how difficult it can be for consumers to make the right card choice," explained Jeremy Wood, Nationwide's director of consumer finance.
"This is why it is important that the information is presented to customers clearly to help them choose the card that best suits them.
"We have long since championed responsible lending across all of our products and we are especially proud to have been recognised for our efforts in the credit card market."
Recent figures from moneyexpert.com showed that nearly six million consumers switched credit card deal in the past six months.
