Homeowners warned over toddler damage

Parents in the UK have to fork out millions of pounds each year to cover the cost of damage caused around the house by toddlers.Research carried out by Halifax found that 'terrible toddlers' caused £122 million worth of damage in the last year - mainly from spilled drinks and graffiti.
For 68 per cent of mums and dads, drink and paint spillages have been the problem, with 65 per cent having to clean their offspring's artistic endeavours off the walls. Broken furniture was encountered by 26 per cent.
"Raising children is expensive enough without having to find additional money to replace items that small children have accidentally damaged," said Martyn Foulds from Halifax.
"Parents can protect themselves from the costs of home repairs and damaged contents by ensuring their home insurance includes accidental damage cover."
A separate report from Halifax warned homeowners recently to ensure their possessions are adequately insured before heading off on Christmas breaks.
