Scotland's top for cheap car cover

People living in Scotland could be benefiting from some of the cheapest car insurance deals in the country, according to a new study.Research by Moneysupermarket found that cars in Aberdeen and Dundee get among the cheapest insurance quotes - with the average Ford Focus driver in Dundee paying £116 a year.
That compared to £315 annually for a driver of the same kind of vehicle in east London and £300 for a motorist in Liverpool.
"Car insurers look at the rate of car crime, the type of car you drive, your age and whether your area has drivers classed as 'high-risk' or particularly prone to accidents," said Richard Mason from the price comparison site.
"There are no hard and fast rules though, so even if you live in an area where the incidence of car crime is low, you could suffer high premiums because of the number of reckless drivers in your town."
The quotes were based upon a 25- to 45-year-old with five years' no claims bonus, no convictions and an excess of between £100 and £250.
