Buying a new car is a stressful process for many

Many people in the UK find securing car finance and buying a motor a stressful process, new research discovered.Data gathered by AA Insurance showed that 80 per cent of consumers would not consider buying a car from an independent dealer because they are wary of the salespeople and their tactics.
Indeed, 59 per cent said that they think all car salespeople are untrustworthy and just nine per cent said they took advice from a dealer about a new vehicle or car finance deals.
This means that just 49 per cent of consumers said that buying a car was an easy process.
"Purchasing a car can be intimidating for many people, especially if they encounter up-selling and are not sure of what to look for or what questions to ask the dealer," explained Janet Pell, head of AA Car Insurance.
"Before you buy, it's really important to do your homework and make sure you know what you want, what you're willing to pay and key things to check for to ensure you feel confident on the forecourt or wherever you choose to look for your next vehicle."
Recently, moneysupermarket.com revealed that the 405,000 Brits planning to buy new motors in September will waste £140 million in excess interest payments if they fail to opt for the most competitive car finance deal.
