Credit card customers 'not taking advantage of deals'

Millions of credit card customers in the UK are picking deals on the basis of special offers but are subsequently not taking advantage of them, a new report suggests. The Post Office found that more than two thirds of credit card customers are attracted by incentives that they never end up using.
Overall, 60 per cent of credit card users do not take full advantage of deals and 49 per cent receive nothing at all.
Elsewhere, the research found that six in ten people said that they would stick with a credit card for an extended period of time if it offered them things like low interest rates and zero per cent deals on transfers or purchases.
"Not everyone uses their card in the same way and to the best effect," explained the Post Office's managing director, Alan Cook.
"We urge credit card holders to look at the long-term value offered by their credit card – particularly as almost a third (32 per cent) credit card users have held their card over five years."
Recently, uSwitch revealed that 6.6 million credit card customers said that they were unhappy with their current credit card.
