Winter travel insurance proves necessary

Snowboard As increasing numbers of people look to hit the slopes each winter, competition among insurance firms to capture customers' money is increasing, which is great news for consumers.

Evidence of the competitive market is provided by Tesco Instant Travel Insurance offering good reductions on its packages this month.

The firm has cut in-store annual policies by 20 per cent, while single trip cover has been reduced by ten per cent, something that many ski fans will be sure to take advantage of thanks to the winter sports option available for only a small supplement.

Allan Burns, the head of Tesco Travel Insurance, remarked: "Whether we are planning to take to slopes on a winter sports holiday or head to sunnier climes and relax by a swimming pool, we all view travel insurance as the necessary and frequently expensive aspect of holidays."

A single week, European winter sports policy with the firm currently stands at £33.29, now all that is needed is some snow in the Alps.
