Smooth super spy James Bond would need in the region of £7,000 to insure his car, according to new research.Figures from Virgin Car Insurance have discovered that Bond would need £7,108.50 to insure the Aston Martin DBS V12 which he drives in the newly-released Casino Royale.
This will be the sixth incarnation of Bond, played by Brit actor Daniel Craig, and Casino Royale is said to focus on the character as a younger, grittier MI6 agent.
Virgin Car Insurance researchers calculated the car insurance quote figure using a number of 007's personal details including his profession, special extras on his cars such as rockets and ejector seats and also the number of cars he has famously written off in previous films.
These write-offs included when Bond's car was pushed into a lake in a View To A Kill, crashing his car into a lakeside cabin in the Living Daylights and having his motor spliced in half by helicopter blades in The World Is Not Enough.
Jon Franklin, Virgin Money spokesman, said: "We were surprised at how low Bond's premium would be bearing in mind the car he drives and his clear lack of a no claims bonus!
"It just goes to show that even drivers with an action packed driving record don't have to be Goldfinger to get great car insurance."
