Starbucks launches own credit card

Starbucks has launched its own credit card that can be used to pay for a coffee without the need for cash.The card can be topped up in any Starbucks store in the UK using a credit or debit card or it can be topped up over the phone.
The card can be used in stores in the UK, Thailand, North America, Canada and Australia and is accompanied by the slogan "Starbucks Card - great coffee now has its own currency".
Brian Waring, marketing director at Starbucks Coffee Company, said: "The card can be used in our stores across the world making it the perfect travel companion.
"The card will enhance the Starbucks experience for our customers allowing them to buy their coffee quickly and easily, even when they aren't carrying cash."
The card has actually been in operation in the US since 2001 but this is the first time it has been rolled out in the UK and other countries.
