HSBC credit card offers 0% for six months

HSBC Consumers can prepare for the winter spending season with HSBC's credit card offer of nought per cent interest on all purchases for six months.

HSBC is also extending the nought per cent offer on balance transfers until January 1st 2008.

The high street bank's nought per cent offer on all purchases will be available from November 21st and presents new cardholders with the opportunity to reduce the cost of their borrowing and get a better deal on their Christmas spending.

Spencer May, a HSBC spokesman, said: "At HSBC we continually look for ways in which we can help borrowers better manage their debt and we recognise that, for many, credit cards can be a convenient way of spreading the cost of Christmas shopping.

"With zero per cent interest on purchases for six months and on balance transfers until January 2008, cardholders will see their credit card debt reduce more rapidly and could save themselves hundreds of pounds in interest."

HSBC's credit card requires a minimum payment of three per cent rather than the two per cent many cardholders charge, which enables consumers to repay their credit card balance more quickly.
