Coleen McLoughlin Women hoping to become the new Colleen McLoughlin have to be prepared to fork out a considerable amount to bag the footballer of their dreams.

New research from Virgin Money claims that to catch a Premiership star's eye and then keep him from playing away for the first year, aspiring WAGs must spend around £50,670.

To look the part of a WAG, an average £28,815 will have to be sacrificed just to get the foundations right, including £5,750 on a boob job, £7,050 on a designer wardrobe and £9,360 on body conditioning.

After snaring their man down at west London's China White club, WAGs will then have to spend £21,855 in the first year of their relationship to keep their star man from roaming, through such outlays as £6,120 in hair care and £5,460 on gym membership and a personal trainer.

John Franklin, from Virgin Money, said: "We felt that with all the hype about WAGs it was important to let women know what it would take financially to join this exclusive set, from park to Premiership player."

The survey also found that just £5,140 could grab you a League 2 journeyman pro, while Conference players can be had for as little as £512 in self improvements.
