HSBC's enhanced Bank Account Plus, which offers six per cent interest, is only available to consumers for another 30 days. The account offers six per cent interest on credit balances for up to £2,500 for 12 months and has proved a real hit with British customers.
There is also a 25 per cent discount on monthly subscription for six months; however, the offer does close on November 30th 2006.
In September, HSBC saw a 55 per cent increase in account openings with many consumers taking advantage not only of the six per cent interest offer but also free annual travel insurance and free overseas cash withdrawals.
Joe Garner, HSBC spokesman, said: "We're seeing increasing demand for our Plus account, making it clear that customers want to simplify their finances by buying bundles of services.
"However, today's customers are savvy and will only opt for value-added accounts where they see they will get real value, like a higher rate of interest on credit balances, free travel insurance and preferential rates on their savings and mortgage."
