Parents should insure families at half-term

With half-term fast approaching, parents should ensure they have insurance policies for both themselves and their families, according to new research. The travel insurance firm esure has been reminding customers the importance of taking out travel insurance cover and remembering the policy details when travelling abroad.
And a new pol-cast facility from esure means that customers can download their travel policy details onto their MP3 player.
This is a service which esure anticipates will prove popular given that the company's figures show 72 per cent of people take a mobile phone with them on holiday while 30 per cent say they carry a MP3 player in their hand luggage.
Jacky Brown, esure head of travel insurance, said: "Parents should make sure they cover themselves and their children by taking out travel insurance this half-term whether they're on UK or foreign soil.
"Making insurance fully mobile by putting contact details and policy summaries onto small MP3 files also means that holidaymakers never need be without important insurance information when they need it most – if their child has an accident by the pool or perhaps during a long flight delay."
