RBS offers new travel money service

A new service that will enable travellers to easily order travel money has been launched by the Royal Bank of Scotland open to both account and non-account customers.The new service will mean that people will be able to order commission-free foreign currency and travellers cheque online or via the telephone. The orders will then be available to collect at a branch or delivered to a home address in the UK.
Even those who do not have a current account with the Royal Bank of Scotland will be able to use the service, which offers free delivery on all orders over £500.
Doug Gowan, head of global travel money services for the Royal Bank of Scotland said: "The Royal Bank of Scotland offers 73 different currencies and nine types of travellers cheques - one of the widest selections available in the UK.
"With our new online and telephone ordering channels, planning your holiday is just that much easier," he added.
The Royal Bank of Scotland also revealed that South Africa is the ideal destination for those hoping their pounds will stretch further when abroad, with sterling strengthening by 22 per cent against the Rand over the past 12 months.
