iPhone 4 Stock In Tesco Phone Shops

A distinct lack of stock of iPhone 4 smart phones has followed a very successful launch by Apple. Almost every web site and shop has sold out of this latest iPhone.
Whilst the iPhone 4 16Gb versions are still available online at Orange, we have just learned that you can also buy the iPhone from Tesco iPhone shops as they have received a new batch yesterday.
Note that these iPhones are not available at Tesco.com, but are on sale at the physical Tesco stores with integral phone shops. You can find your nearest store using this location map. Tesco are be selling them on a first come, first served basis.
Tesco sell one of the most attractive iPhone monthly payment deals as you need only sign a 12 month contract costing £35 per month. The handset does cost a further £229 though. That tariff includes 750 call minutes, 1GB data download and unlimited texts.
As our comparison table shows, this means that the total cost of owning an iPhone 4 with the Tesco 12 month contract is £649, whereas a 24 month contract from the same company costs a total of £1099.
The Orange pay monthly plans for an 18 month contract also cost £35 per month, however they include 600 call minutes, 500 texts and unlimited data downloads,, which are subject to a fair usage policy. The iPhone 4 handset also costs £229 with that plan.
Did you actually check that Tesco has the phones? Or did you believe the email they sent out saying that iphone 4 was in their stores. I phoned several stores yesterday and today and all claimed that they had no idea when they would have stock.

Since publishing that news, we have contacted Tesco to see if their Phone Shops do actually have stock of iPhone 4.
Nope – someone at Tesco goofed with that email, it seems. I was told that Tesco will be receiving their next batch of stock at the end of this month.
Orange still have stock of the 16Gb iPhone 4 though
Tesco still don’t have any stock. There website is very annoying as it currently say’s they have limited stock, however when you access the tarfiffs of ring the local store they still haven’t had any in. Also if you register for update… guess what you don’t get any!! The only update i’ve had so far was the e-mail bungle that was mentioned in the previous post above.
Oh well it was still worth cancelling my O2 contract. Just hope Tesco have some in before Christmas!!!
