Wedding Insurance
Taking out Wedding insurance for your big day could be one of the best things you do!
Weddings can be extremely expensive events and the list of things to pay for can be almost endless; The Church or Registry Office, The Vicar, Transport, The Organist, The food, Wedding Dresses, Brides Maids dresses, Suits, Flowers, Photographers, Caterers, Reception Venue, Reception Entertainment, Hotels, a Honey-moon and more. All this at a time when you may be buying a new house or have new additions to the family.
What happens if something goes wrong?
There will most probably be some minor issues as you lead up to your wedding day. It's understandable that everything won't run 100% smoothly when organising an event like this but the last thing you want to happen is for something to crop up that means you have to postpone, cancel or reorganise your wedding and this can be expensive and indeed stressful.
Consider the implications for your wedding if the bride, groom or a close friend or family member is seriously injured just before the wedding day. It may be best to postpone the wedding but unless you have wedding insurance that covers just this event then you could be faced with huge bills, on top of a very difficult time dealing with the person who is injured.
You might encounter a problem with the caterers which means they will not provide the wedding food. Subject to the reasons, by taking out wedding insurance you will be covered for this, perhaps enabling you to seek out alternative caterers
Other issues where wedding insurance can help include
- A double booking with the photographer, entertainment, or Transport
- The rings get lost
- The church or wedding venue has been burnt down or otherwise damaged such that it can no longer be used.
Having good wedding insurance cover means you can make a claim for such losses or additional costs incurred. It also takes out the stress and worry if a problem arises.
Wedding insurance policies can be taken out for around £50 - £200, depending on the level of cover. You might consider it a small amount to pay just in case something does go wrong.
There are a number of insurance companies who offer this insurance and many of these are available online, either to get a wedding insurance quote or to actually buy the insurance as well.
For example with Marks and Spencer you can get a Wedding Insurance quote online and if you like the price and the cover offered you can purchase the insurance there and then. Make sure you check out what insurance is included and that it meets your needs. One attractive point with the M&S offering is that if you need to make a claim, there'll be no excess to pay. And if you do get into a dispute with one of your contractors, M&S will cover legal expenses up to £10,000.
So make sure you do consider taking out Wedding insurance - and enjoy your big day!
