There’s a new free iPhone app from Bupa which gives people access to quality health information wherever they are.
Leading international healthcare group, Bupa, has launched a free iPhone app giving people easy access to quality health information wherever they are.
According to Bupa Health Pulse 2011 research, seven out of ten people in the UK now use the internet to find health information.
The new ‘Health Finder’ app will give free mobile access to Bupa’s award winning health factsheets which covering conditions from angina to yellow fever.
This information is already viewed by over 20 million people each year and as sales of smartphones outpace those of PCs, more people are likely to view on-the-go.
The free iPhone app also lets people search for specialists, hospitals, and Bupa centres in their area so they can discuss with their GP which one might be best for them, should they require treatment.
And if you’ve got Bupa health insurance you can use the app for a step-by-step guide to the claims process, as well as to store your membership details and the details of your Bupa advisers in one place.
Pre-authorisation codes for appointments and procedures are also stored, along with your calendar automatically updating with the date and time.
As the app is compatible with Google maps, it can provide you with directions to your chosen facility.
The ‘Health Finder’ app is available to all iPhone/iPad and iPod touch users and can be downloaded at the Apple ‘App store’
MoneyHighStreet.com comments: “Another potentially very useful app for the iPhone. Clearly many want to be able to research more about health matters and to be able to easily do this whilst out and about is an added bonus.
“The whole take-up of smartphones is really gathering pace, both in terms of the volume of people that use them but equally in the practical value of the apps that are now being created.”
