Virgin Media to build on UK High Street store network

Virgin Media is to build on its UK High Street store network and plans to triple its retail presence in a year.

Virgin MediaIt already has 27 of its own-branded stores and plans to add 2 new stores in London shortly, as well as to triple its presence over the next year.

Pete Taddeo, Virgin Media’s managing director of consumer retail, said ‘Families up and down the country have made our broadband, TV and mobile services central to their entertainment needs. This expansion will reinforce Virgin Media’s presence at the heart of communities across the UK and provide a valuable contact point for existing and potential customers.’

Virgin are also introducing ‘ retail lite’ sites – shops without walls.

These will showcase Virgin Media’s quad-play services of broadband, TV, home phone and mobile and have been described as the most advanced customer facing outlets.

They will be set up in major shopping centres, including Meadowhall in Sheffield, The Victoria Centre in Nottingham and The Ropewalk Shopping Centre in Nuneaton.

Virgin Media is the largest residential broadband provider in the UK.

Across its quad-play services it has approaching 10 million customers.
