According to Confused.com, the number of travel insurance enquiries on its website is up over 63% compared with this time last year.
Interesting that there is this increase in travel insurance activity, despite the much covered news about the ‘staycation’, whereby people are choosing to stay at home to save money.
Clearly holidays are still on the agenda for many and with the high profile of the likes of swine flu consumers are becoming more conscious of the need to get the right level of cover.
Travel insurance comparison websites can help you find what you need and help you make sure you get the cover at the best price.
As Steve Williams, head of travel insurance at Confused.com, says ‘Not only is shopping around quick and easy, but it also enables consumers to directly compare levels of cover and cost from a wide range of providers.’
You can also get single or annual travel insurance quotes from other providers, such as Direct Line.
If you are off on holiday and need holiday travel money don’t forget to consider getting a currency card, a great way of buying your dollars or Euros.
MoneyHighStreet currently has a special reader offer with FairFX
You can get a FREE FairFX currency card here – just sign up and load €10 and get the card free – it usually costs £9.95.
