Tescos home insurance is offering a 45% discount for new customers in their first year.

Home InsuranceThis home insurance discount applies to their Value, Standard or Finest policies and is available until 27 May.

After 27 May, the discount reverts to 35%, the current standard new customer online discount.

The offer does not include buy to let insurance.

Tescos value cover is their ‘no frills’ policy. It provides the basic essentials of home insurance, covering the major events such as fire, storm, theft and flood.

Standard cover builds on the Value home insurance, offering some higher cover limits and additional items such as garden contents or contents when away from home.

Tescos Finest Home insurance builds on the Standard cover, automatically including benefits that are optional extras on the Standard policy, such as accidental damage on buildings and contents, personal possessions cover and family legal protection.

Finest cover also gives higher limits of cover than the Value or Standard policies.

There’s a further 5% discount for Tesco Car Insurance customers.

Tescos are keen to get your business and they will pay up to £25 to cover any switching costs incurred from your existing home insurance provider.

There are many home insurance providers, all competing for your business and offering various enticing deals. It is important to check what is available at the time you need to buy your cover.

As well as Tescos, there are many companies who can provide home insurance quotes online, including Direct Line, MORE TH>N and other supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s.

There are also home insurance comparison websites, such as Gocompare.com, MoneySupermarket.com and Comparethemarket which can easily compare quotes and help you select the best policy for your needs.
