It’s a good time to consider a switch of energy supplier as energy bills increase during the colder weather and a number of the suppliers have cut their energy prices. It’s really easy to do but make sure you check the t&cs.

Switch energy supplier

If you want to switch energy supplier it really is easy – perhaps easier than you might think.

With online comparison sites, such as Confused.com or uSwitch, you can check for the cheapest energy supplier in your area and switch energy without fuss.

As you check out your options, do make sure you read the t&cs.

By doing this you will ensure you know the conditions of a contract, including any extra payments you might incur such as exit fees or late payent fees.

You will also know about any extras the energy supplier is offering, such as charity donations or free boiler repairs.

As Which? Switch found, over half of customers surveyed didn’t read or only glanced at their energy supplier t&Cs.

As Alison Morrison of Which? Switch says ‘You can expect to receive the largest energy bill of the year after the winter period which is why now is an ideal time to look at switching.

However, it’s essential to read the terms and conditions of your contract to make sure you’re not missing out on the best deals or weighing yourself down with extra costs or clauses.’
