According to uSwitch.com, by shopping around and making the switch to a new energy deal you can save more money than waiting to benefit from energy price cuts.

Whilst 5 of the 6 main energy suppliers have announced price cuts, only the reductions from British Gas have so far come into force.
According to figures from uSwitch, the average household energy bill was £912 in January 2008 and this had risen to £1,293 by January 2009.
With the energy price cuts announced though the saving will only be £50, reducing the bill to £1,243.
Money can be saved whether staying with an energy supplier or switching to another one. Switching to a more competitive deal is the key.
By paying by direct debit, moving to an online plan and moving to a dual fuel deal you will invariably get the best energy deal and save the most money.
uSwitch offers an independent energy price comparison and switching service which helps customers compare and take advantage of the best energy deals and services available.
