Sony Ericsson Spam and Phishing emails
Published: 12 March 2009 By MoneyhighStreet Staff 1 Comment
Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications have advised there are fraudulent phishing emails being sent which appear to bear the name of ‘Sony Ericsson’ and are asking for personal details.

These phishing emails state that the recipient has won some money in a competition and ask that selected personal information is confirmed.
Sony Ericsson advise these emails are not from them, rather they are fraudulent attempts to obtain personal information.
They apologise for any inconvenience arising from the emails and advise recipients not to respond to them. They can be forwarded to Sony Ericsson for their attention.
Phishing scams are on the increase, both in terms of the number and sophistication. Email users need to be vigilant and be extremely wary of any emails requesting that you confirm personal information; assume they are a phishing email and seek clarification from the merchant before responding.
