Music festivals are a great place to unwind and listen to bands, they are also a haven for financial criminals so be careful not to become a victim of financial crime or ID theft.
Credit report provider Callcredit Check has found that 15% of the UK population has suffered from financial crime whilst at a festival.
Some 30% are also concerned about becoming a victim of financial crime.
ID theft is a growing issue and you need to protect your personal information at all times.
By regularly checking your credit report you can keep track of activity on your accounts and spot any unknown entries or changes that could indicate you are a victim of ID theft.
You can get a FREE credit report to start this checking.
As Owen Roberts, ID fraud prevention expert at Callcredit Check says ‘Falling victim of financial crime can cause you an unnecessary amount of money and hassle, so it’s of utmost importance to be aware of the consequences and attempt to prevent it from happening.’
Make sure you know where your credit cards are at all times and ideally keep them and other items such as cash and your driving licence in different places so you don’t risk them all being stolen together.
Above all make sure you enjoy the festival!
