Rewrap gifts for Christmas presents to save money

With many people needing to watch their budgets, it seems the idea of rewrapping unwanted gifts or giving homemade presents to save money this Christmas is growing in popularity.
According to moneysupermarket.com, some 25% of people are planning to re-wrap old or unwanted gifts this Christmas.
More women are likely to do this than men, nearly 30% compared to only 17% of men.
On first thought this may seem very cheeky but as long as you consider to whom your unwanted gift is going and pass it on to someone who will use it or appreciate it more, it’s making better use of it rather than sticking it at the back of a cupboard.
As Sian Harrison of moneysupermarket.com points out though ‘Just don’t give it back to the person who bought it for you!’
It’s not just recycling of gifts though, around 20% are saving money by making homemade christmas presents, such as jams or chutneys.
Sian Harrison adds ‘If you are worried about any potential mix ups, shop around for your Christmas presents and look for online discount codes and vouchers before you part with your money.’
Over half of women and almost as many men are planning to use discount vouchers to save money as they buy their Christmas presents.
