The Christmas holiday season is fast approaching and many will be taking the opportunity to catch some holiday sun or do some skiing, but remember to buy travel insurance or you might be paying for more than presents.
Research from Post Offie Travel Insurance shows that nearly 25% of holidaymakers still go on holiday abroad without travel insurance.
They do this to save money, but it could be a case of a short term saving but a long term cost.
For example, many people underestimate the value of their luggage.
Considering you luggage is worth far less than it actually may lull you into a false sense of security and lead you to think you can replace lost luggage for a low cost.
Reality is likely to be very different and without travel insurance, the cost of replacing lost luggage could could cost a lot more than you think.
Buying travel insurance
You can buy travel insurance comparatively cheaply.
Use a travel insurance comparison website, such as that offered by Confused.com, and you can quickly see what’s on offer, how much it costs and get what’s best for you.
If you’re looking for specialist ski and snowboard insurance, you can get a quote from such as Complete Ski, winter sports insurance specialists.
Don’t forget too, if you haven’t got an EHIC you can apply for one free.
