We may be opting for the new ‘stay at home’ approach to save money and cutting down on eating out but the cost of satellite TV subscriptions are not being taken out of the budget.

Save moneyAccording to Legal & General, only 14% of Brits say they would cut back on the satellite TV, Sky or cable subscriptions to save money.

Mind you it’s no wonder with the the great TV deals from Virgin Media or Sky that are available.

So where are the cut backs?

For 25% it’s holidays and 30% it’s eating out. There’s also reducing shopping sprees and economising on the weekly shop.

Interestingly 28% said they would look to shop around for cheaper home insurance.

That said, Garry Skelton, marketing director at Legal & General’s general insurance business said ‘it’s not surprising that searching around for cheaper home insurance is on the list of areas where we could cut back. But we would just add a word of caution to ensure that household insurance customers are careful and do not find themselves with cover that is less than they really need, in return for that cheaper premium.’

There are many home insurance comparison websites that can help you quickly and easily compare what’s available from different providers.

Make sure though that you do check the details and get the cover that you really need.
