The recession and resulting financial concerns are hitting people’s holiday plans with nearly 20% of those intending to holiday in the UK this summer doing so to save money but don’t forget travel insurance.
Sainsburys Travel Insurance research shows holidaymakers are also looking to save money by booking cheaper accommodation and taking less spending money.
Amazingly, 170,000 holidaymakers intend to leave their partners or children at home whilst they go away because they can’t afford to take them too.
As Sam Marrs at Sainsburys Travel Insurance points out ‘These holidaymakers must still remember to ensure they have good quality travel insurance though because although they’ll have access to the NHS, they could potentially still need cover for lost or stolen possessions, delays and cancellations.’
You can compare travel insurance using a comparison website, such as Confused.com or you can go directly to but travel insurance at a site such as Sainsburys Travel Insurance.
