Direct Line are offering new customers 12 months pet insurance for the price of 10.
The offer applies whether you get a pet insurance quote online or via the telephone.
When getting the quote, reference should be made to ‘Pet 12 for 10′ to take advantage of the offer.
According to a 2008 Mintel research report average vet fees are around £715 making for expensive bills for an injured or ill pet.
Head of Direct Line Pet insurance, Chris Price, commented ‘Pet owners should remember to safeguard themselves against hefty vet bills by taking out insurance for their pets.’
Having the right pet insurance means that pets get the medical assistance that they need, whilst the vet bill is settled by the insurance company.
Of course a pet insurance policy will only pay out for what is covered.
A Direct Line pet insurance policy currently includes as standard:
- Cover for vet fees up to agreed levels per condition, for example, up to £6,00 under the Advanced policy
- Up to £2m third party liability cover, applicable to dogs
There are additional items that can be included, such as:
- Cover in the event the pet dies as a result of an accidental injury
- Boarding fees, up to £1,000, if the policy owner has to stay in hospital
- Holiday cancellation cover, up to £5,000, if you have to cancel or curtail a holiday because your pet goes missing or needs unplanned medical treatment.
Direct Line is part of RBS Insurance, wholly oned by the Royal Bank of Scotland Group.
