According to Sainsburys Finance nearly 7,000 personal loans have been taken out for dental treatment.

Personal loansPersonal loans have been taken out to either wholly or partially fund dental treatement to a value of just over £60 million since the start of 2007.

The average size of personal loan purely for dental treatment is nearly £6,500 – the equivalent to around 2 dental implants, 2 dental crowns and teeth whitening at a mid-range cosmetic dental practice.

As Steven Baillie, Head of Loans at Sainsburys, commented,’loans have for some time been a popular way to finance (dental) treatment and spread the cost.

If you decide that a loan is the best way to pay for expensive dental procedures, make sure you shop around to get the best rate and payment as it could save you a considerable amount in repayments.’

Currently you can get a personal loan from Sainsburys Finance with an interest rate of 7.9% APR Typical.

You can currently also get a personal loan from Alliance & Leicester with 7.9% APR Typical.

Sainsburys Finance is a 50:50 joint venture between Sainsburys and Lloyds Banking Group.

As well as considering a personal loan, buying dental insurance may be another option to consider to cover the cost of your dental care.
