Many fixed energy deals are ending between now and the end of the year, with npower One’s deal finishing this Friday, but what are the best energy deals now?

Energy dealsAccording to moneysupermarket.com, some 70% of customers switched to fixed energy deals in July 2008 to save money against sharply rising energy prices.

However, if npower One customers switch now to a standard npower deal they could see their energy bills rise by over £230 per year.

It’s important therefore to take action to ensure you don’t wipe out the money saved.

You can compare energy deals across different providers using a comparison website such as moneysupermarket.com or uSwitch.com.

As we covered in our article ‘Fixed energy deal ending – what happens next?‘, as your energy deal comes to an end you do to need to make decisions on whether to stay or move away from your current energy supplier.

As Scott Byrom at moneysupermarket.com says ‘Bill payers who fixed their utility bills this time last year should now be scouring the market for the next best alternative to avoid paying over the odds’.

He added ‘Fixing again now may not be the best option for the majority of bill payers as falling prices mean online deals offer better value.’

The key is to be proactive and check what energy deals are available in good time before your current deal ends.
