Norwich Union, part of Aviva, has so far returned £10 million to customers. This follows their announcement last year to return £40 million of unclaimed assets to 40,000 customers.

Assets Reunited are working for Norwich Union in tracing customers who have not made claim to their money. Customers may have lost their policies, forgotten to let companies know of their change of address or simply forgotten to make a claim.

As a result of many acquisitions, some customers may not realise that they are customers of Norwich Union and be uncertain where to claim their money from.

Companies that are now part of Norwich Union include CGU, Commerical Union (CU), London & Edinburgh (L&E), General Accident (GA), Provident Mutual, Scottish Union, Yorkshire Insurance Co and North British & Mercantile Insurance Company.

Cathryn Riley, chief operating officer at Norwich Union, said ‘We are currently returning over a million pounds a month to our customers.’ She went on to say that ‘We have made contact with a further 10,000 customers and are in the process of reuniting them with an additional £25 million’.

You can check to see if you are entitled to reclaim money by visiting the Norwich Union website.
