The latest Motorola smartphone, the Motorola Milestone, also known as the US Droid, is already available in the UK through Expansys for as little as £450 with an estimated delivery window of two days.
The Milestone is the first smartphone carrying the latest Android 2.0 operating system and is the latest in a long line of mobile phones dubbed the potential iPhone killer.
The smartphone, known in the U.S. as Motorola Droid, has been a huge success in the U.S. and earned praise from its customers across the region. More than 800,000 consumers have purchased the latest in the long line of Motorola mobile phones throughout America, with users attracted by its expansive 3.7 touch screen and its thin 1.3cm ergonomic design.
The Motorola Milestone is currently exclusively distributed in the UK by Expansys and is a genuine localised version complete with UK keyboard. The online retailer will supply the Milestone on T-Mobile for £35 per month with a £50 initial outlay.
The package, with an 18-month lock-up period, comes with a monthly 700 minutes of calls, unlimited texts and 1GB data per month and for those who trade in their old smartphones can get up to £100 cashback until December 31.
Already, Expansys said that they received a “huge number of pre-orders” of the new Motorola smartphone.
The Motorola Milestone has a 528Mhz processor, integrated slide-out QWERTY keyboard, WiFi, a 5.0 megapixel camera with image stabilisation and a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display.
The smartphone has a 32GB storage space. The QWERTY keyboard acts as the perfect tool for communication and work matters.
The Android-powered operating system gives consumers the ability to use multiple applications a trick that cannot be mirrored with the iPhone. This allows casual and business users to listening to music, read an email and view a Twitter or Facebook page all at the same time.
It appears that Androids capabilities are not just in its mobile phones, with a new range of laptops created to run with the Android operating system.
Android finally appears to be realising its huge potential and Motorola mobile phones are beginning to take advantage of significant consumer demand by introducing the operating system into its portfolio of smartphones.

The Milestone does not have 32GB of onboard memory, It comes bundled with an 8GB microSD Memory Card. You can also buy the Motorola Multimedia Station which is basically a horizontal Dock, which changes your your display to be a multimedia player and alarm clock.
This is an awesome device, just wish they went that little bit further with it, IE a 1Ghz Snapdragon Processor, 8MP Camera with 720p recording.
