Motorcycling is big business amongst the over 50s according to Saga who have just launched motorbike insurance to cater for this growing demand.

700,000 (21%) of all UK motorcyclists are aged over 50 and a further 1 million in this age group are hankering after the thrill of the open road, Saga found in a recent study.
You can buy motor bike insurance from Saga who in response to this growing market have launched a new motorcycle insurance scheme, or from other companies such as Bennetts.
Although most older motorcyclists don the leathers for the thrill and freedom of riding powerful motor bikes, around a quarter see a motor cycle as a cheaper alternative to running a car.
17% of motorcyclists also enjoy weaving through busy traffic as they use their bikes to commute to work.
Touring motor bikes are the most popular for the other 50′s, however powerful sports bikes attract around 10% of the older motor cycling fraternity.
Having good, cost effective, motorbike insurance is clearly important, particularly as so many motorcyclists clearly enjoy living life to the full, even though there are risks in pursuing the freedom of the open road.
