More HD channels on Virgin Media TV

Virgin Media TV will soon have more HD channels on its screens – including LIVING and National Geographic.
The new HD channels will be added free to Virgin Media TV XL customers.
Initially 4 new HD channels will be added:
- LIVING is one of the most watched digital TV channels in the UK and will be offered in HD for the first time. LIVING HD will include such as CSI, Private Practice, Ghost Whisperer and Criminal Minds.
- National Geographic HD has some amazing documentries, including Extreme Ice and Ancient Megastructures and covers science, technology, history and the wonders of the natural world.
- FX HD offers American programs and drama, including such as The Wire, Family Guy and True Blood.
- MTV Networks International HD channel is dedicated to music and kids. On Saturday and Sunday mornings for example it shows a selection of Nickelodeon’s hit shows such as SpongeBob SquarePants and Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.
BBC HD is already available as are some 300 hours of HD content on the Virgin Media TV on demand service, including the BBC iPlayer in HD and around 60 HD films at any one time.
Chief Executive officer of Virgin Media, Neil Berkett, comments ‘Our line-up of HD channels and hugely popular on demand content is a unique and winning combination and we’ll continue to bring more sport, films, entertainment and documentaries to your customers.’
To add to the line up, the company is already in discussion with UKTV and Good Food HD.
