Update 30 JuneAEG Live, the promoters of the Michael Jackson ‘This is it’ London shows, have confirmed ticket buyers can either have a refund or keep their ticket as a souvenir.

Chief Executive of AEG Live, Randy Phillips, said ‘Since he loved his fans in life, it is incumbent upon us to treat them with the same reverence and respect after his death.’

The ticket refunds from AEG will include all ticket service charges.

More information will be available on the Michael Jackson Live! website from tomorrow, 1 July.

It is expected that some fans will decide to keep their tickets as a souvenir – a special lenticular process has been used on them and they were designed by Michael Jackson himself.

Clearly with the terrible news of Michael Jackson’s, the King of Pop’s, death fans all over the world are in shock.

As time moves on, many will start to question whether they will get a refund on their Micheal Jackson tickets bought for his sell out O2 concerts.

No doubt things will evolve but we look at the current position.

Those Michael Jackson tickets bought directly from the O2 venue or from agencies should get a full refund.

For those who bought through Seatwave there has already been confirmation by the chief executive, Joe Cohen, that

‘All customers who purchased tickets for his (Michaeal Jackson’s) O2 shows from Seatwave are covered by our TicketCover guarantee and will get a full refund. Full information on how to do this is on our website.’

Those though that bought tickets from private internet sellers could unfortunately face losing their money.

Many will have bought through online auctions sites such as eBay and will need to contact their sellers to seek a refund – who of course may be able to get a refund, if they bought them directly from an agency for example.

Payments made using PayPal are covered by insurance, but any claim has to be made within 45 days.

Those who paid more than £100 for their tickets and used their credit cards can apply for a refund from their credit card company.

This though only applies if they were purchased through a ticketing agent, who should provide a refund anyway.

It does not apply to credit card purchases via eBay unfortunately.

AEG Live, the organiser of the Michael Jackson concerts has not yet mad a statement about refunds.

Viagogo, the official ticket exchange partner for the shows is due to advise details on refunds later today.

As appropriate we will update this article.
