MasterCard has launched an iPhone and iPod touch application to locate cash machines

A free iPhone and ipod touch application, called ATM Hunter, has been launched by MasterCard which helps users locate cash machines, ATMs.

As the application uses the iPhone and iPod awareness technology it provides directions and a map without the user first having to enter an address.

It makes it really easy and fast to find the nearest ATM.

The search can be filtered to provide specific information, for example ATMs that don’t charge a fee or those that are wheelchair accessible.

As well as giving you information on where the ATM is located, in a bank or supermarket for example, the app also provides you with the distance from your chosen location to it.

ATM Hunter can be downloaded from the Apple app store and it’s free.

Some 2 million consumers contact MasterCard each year to find ATM locations as they need them, no doubt therefore that this iPhone app will prove a hit.

According to MasterCard, this is the first of a number of iPhone and iPod touch applications it is developing.
