Lloyds Banking Group is warning customers against internet scams, suggesting that would-be fraudsters may take advantage of the newly launched Group.

Lloyds Banking Group now combines a number of brands, including Lloyds TSB, Halifax and Bank of Scotland.
Internet fraudsters may launch phishing scams with emails claiming to be from the new Group asking for personal details.
Rob Devey, Managing Director, Direct Channels, Lloyds Banking Group, said ‘Fraudsters are opportunists, who are always on the hunt for new ways to dupe customers. It should come as no surprise that the creation of Lloyds Banking Group may trigger another spate of phishing attacks.’
Whether it be under the Lloyds Banking Group name or one of the Groups brands, the Group will never send emails asking customers for their personal security details. If such an email is received, asking for information such as passwords then it is certainly a fake and should not be responded to.
