Travel to Christmas markets is becoming more popular but where’s the best value – Krakow or Prague Christmas markets?

Travel insurance and travel moneyWith the Czech capital of Prague being famous for its markes in the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square many people are travelling there for the Christmas markets.

But as Virgin Money Travel Insurance research found, the cost for a visit to Prague is nearly £500, whereas an equivalent trip to vist the Christmas markets in Krakow, Poland would only be around £140.

There are other options, including the Valkenburg Christmas market in the Netherlands or Compenhagen’s Christmas market which is held in Europe’s oldest amusement park.

There is of course an alternative option for a trip to Lapland, the home of Santa Claus – the Virgin Money research found this to cost just under £300.

Wherever you go, remember to get travel insurance.
