iPhone coming to Tesco soon

Tesco is soon to sell the Apple iPhone – both the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS should be available online and in selected stores before Christmas.
This move by Tesco looks to set the scene for a price war on the iPhone. When Orange started selling the iPhone in the UK earlier in November it broadly kept prices at the same as those of O2.
Tesco has already stated ‘We want to bring a bit of Tesco value to the iPhone tariffs’.
You can get more details and register for updates on when the iPhone will be available at Tesco – just use this link to the Tesco website.
The plan is for the iPhone to be available on both contract and pay as you go deals. Tesco has confirmed that purchases of the iPhone will qualify for Clubcard points, as do all their mobile phone tariffs, handsets and top-ups.
Tesco Mobile is a 50:50 joint venture between Tesco and O2. It is looking to really grown its presence in the UK mobile phone market and plans to double the number of Tesco Mobile centres to 200 by the end of next year.
No doubt this coup over the iPhone will help its cause – particularly if it does go on sale for this all-important Christmas period.
