The INQ Chat 3G smartphone goes on sale with Three.co.uk today. What makes this so special is its QWERTY keypad and built in Twitter support.
Designed with a strong focus on social network interaction, the INQ Chat 3G comes with proper Facebook and Twitter with the full range of functionality you’re used to on a PC. It also incorporates Windows Live Messenger and Skype. Skype to Skype calls are free.
Free mobile email is at the heart of the INQ Chat 3G – the phone is one of the few on the market to offer free push Gmail access so that your emails arrive in real time with no waiting or updating. It’s great to use and doesn’t require any fussy setting up. The INQ Chat 3G also integrates with other personal email services like Yahoo! and Hotmail.
All this social interaction is made more easy with the QWERTY keyboard which endows this smartphone with many of the capabilities of a laptop PC.
This is also the first non Apple phone that can access iTunes music files and the 3.2 Megapixel camera provides addition multi media capabilities.
Commenting on its social network abilities, Nigel Field, Director of Devices at Three says “The INQ Chat 3G is a fantastic example of a great value phone that does the Internet really well. With one touch access to Facebook, Twitter, Skype and Windows Live Messenger, the Chat reinforces 3 as the home of the mobile Internet.”
Pay As You Go Plans
By paying £99.99 for the phone, you can then subscribe to the Pay as You Go service with Three. Every time you top up you receive 150 MB mobile data allowance for 90 days, a bundle of free texts, free 3-3 calls as well as the free Skype to Skype calls.
Pay Monthly plans
Pay monthly plans start at £15 per month for an 18 month contract. For this you get unlimited Internet access and texts and 75 minutes of calls to any network at any time. A contract providing 200 minutes will cost £20 per month.
The top monthly package costs £35 per month and offers 750 minutes of calls at any time and to any network.
A lot of thought has obviously gone into making the INQ Chat 3G a highly usable mobile Internet and social interaction tool. This is a point emphasised by INQ CEO Frank Meehan, who said:
“We’ve looked at what a lot of consumers want and haven’t been getting so far from mobile manufacturers – a well priced device built around the Internet that does more than voice-and-text. The INQ Chat 3G does it simply and beautifully, with sharp design and packaging.”
