Home insurance discount from Nationwide

Nationwide are offering a 20% discount off their home insurance – a 20% discount on buying a home insurance policy and a further 20% discount off the first renewal premium.
The initial 20% discount applies when buildings and contents insurance are purchased together and runs from 1 September 2009 to 3 January 2010.
For Nationwide’s FlexAccount customer’s, subject to certain criteria, there’s also the option to get another £20 off the first year premium if they buy their policy in a branch or over the phone.
Alternatively customers who buy the home insurance online will get a 10% discount.

Key features of the policy from Nationwide include:
- Option to pay by monthly direct debit at no extra charge
- Unlimited buildings cover for eligible properties
- Garden contents cover up to £1,000 and up to £500 for plants in the garden
- Cover for MP3 players and music downloads
- Cover for students’ belongings while at university or college
There are also other cover options available at extra cost, including
- 24 hour Home Emergency Assistance at £4.50 per month
- Up to £50,000 Legal Assistance for £1.75 per month
- Accidental damage cover
- Personal possessions cover
