Aviva is offering new parents in the UK free life insurance cover, encouraging new parents to consider their financial protection needs, particularly with the added responsibility of children in the family.
Life insurance is often only considered when a mortgage is taken out – a way of financially protecting the mortgage.
However, there’s also the question of financial security for children and at their birth it’s an ideal time to consider family life insurance needs.
Aviva are offering £10,000 of free life cover for new parents.
The intention is this is a starting point and new parents can add further life insurance themselves.
Currently as Aviva research shows, over half of UK parents would leave their dependent children with little or no financial protection in the event of their death.
Clearly, whilst the free offer is aimed at new parents, existing parents are encouraged to take the opportunity to consider their financial needs, including buying life insurance cover if appropriate.
