Free Home Contents Insurance

Insurance companies are offering a range of deals on home insurance to entice customers to take up insurance policies with them.

Two of the biggest Home insurance players, Norwich Union and More Than, are both offering free contents insurance to customers who buy their buildings insurance.

Norwich Union are offering up to £50,000 of free contents cover and More Than up to £75,000.

Many of the home insurance providers are also encouraging people to buy online by offering online discounts. These include More Than, offering 25% discount off your premium.

Other companies offering money saving deals include:

• Direct Line are offering 50% off contents insurance and up to 25% off when you buy online. If you already have Car insurance with Direct Line then you qualify for 10% off their home insurance.

• Churchill are offering new customers 25% off home insurance and this rises to 50% off if you haven’t made any insurance claims for the last 5 years. Churchill are offering a 15% discount for buying online.

• Sainsbury’s are offering up to 20% discount on their home insurance as long as both buildings and contents cover are bought before 24 Feb 09.

• Tescos have a slightly different tack. They are offering clubcard customers who take out new home insurance £35 cash back to spend on anything. This is subject to you getting a quote and buying their Standard or Finest home insurance betweem 8 Jan and 4 Feb 09. Tescos are also offering a 35% online discount and an additional 5% off if you already have their car insurance.
