Eon cuts gas prices

Eon has cut its gas prices by 3.3%, a move that will benefit 1.8 million of its customers.
This cut in gas prices by Eon will save these customers £25 per year.
Whilst Eon might be ‘committed to offering competitive prices at all times’ as Gareth Kloet of Confused.com says ‘it’s not going to make a huge difference to consumers struggling with their household budgets.’
Eon also cut its electricity prices in March, by 9%.
The price cuts, whilst welcomed, hardly eat into the massive energy price rises seen in 2008.
Eon has also removed the standing charge on its meters which will beneft its prepayment meter customers.
It is certainly worth comparing energy prices as a result of the recent price chnages from Eon and others, including British Gas.
If you do compare energy prices you could save money on your bills, particularly if you can switch from a standard tariff and take advantage of such as direct debit payment and an online energy account.
