Do your shoping online and save money this Christmas – get cheaper gifts, including fragrances and electronics compared to high street prices.
Which? undertook research and bought 27 Christmas gifts bith online and in the high street. The result was a saving of £383 online.
The main shopping online bargains included
- An Altec Lansing MP3 Speaker Dock was just over £112 at Amazon.co.uk, £38 cheaper than the typical price
- A 100ml bottle of Calvin Klein Eternity for Men was £18 cheaper and a 50ml bottle of Dior J’Adore was £7 cheaper online than on the high-street.
With shopping online price wars from the retailers you can get some real deals, for example
- Debenhams currently have their Christmas Spectacular which includes up to 25% off all departments, including 10% off cosmetics and fragrance ===> Debenhams website
- John Lewis is offering a price match to those at Debenhams ===> John Lewis website
- Sainsbury’s have got 25% off all Cookware & tableware ===> Sainsbury’s website
- Argos have 25% off selected top brand toys ===> Argos website
Which? also asked its members how satisfied they were with online retailers. Amongst those with high satisfaction scores were John Lewis and Play.com.
Melanie Dowding of Which? Online commented ‘If you’re counting the pennies this Christmas, you’re usually beeter off staying home and shopping online. If you are out and about, though, supermarkets can be good for smaller items for your Christmas stocking.’
