British holidaymakers are taking part in daredevil sports whilst on holiday, but are these activities covered by good travel insurance?

A third of British holidaymakers are tempted by daredevil sporting activities whilst abroad, according to Moneysupermarket.com.
Many do not realise that these impulsive activities might not be covered by their travel insurance, however.
You can compare travel insurance policies such as Confused.com or Moneysupermarket.com to ensure that they cover adventurous activities such as bungee jumping or white water rafting.
Londoners are the biggest holiday risk-takers, with almost half (46 per cent) indulging in daredevil activities, whereas only 28% of holidaymakers from Wales indulge in daredevil pursuits.
men are more likely than women to indulge in an extreme sport whilst on holiday, the research found.
Horse riding and scuba diving are the most popular forms of daredevil activities, however jet skiing and parasailing are also sought after activities by adventurous Brits.
The importance of good travel insurance which covers these activities is highlighted by Maxine Baker, travel insurance manager at moneysupermarket.com who says:
“We Brits are a daring bunch, and while it’s no real surprise men are the biggest fans of extreme sports, there’s no doubt thinking ahead is the key to an adequately covered trip.”
“Whether you’re a student planning a gap year to remember, taking a career break, or simply heading off for some autumn sun, any daredevil holidaymakers jetting off in pursuit of an adventure-filled holiday should pay special attention to what their travel insurance covers them for.”
